Gorgeous Japanese made 1999 Ibanez RG470 in a sleek black finish! Don’t be confused - this is not the same guitar as the earlier Korean made models, these earlier MIJ models are the real deal - manufactured in the well acclaimed Fuji Gen factory. These can be a bit tricky to find (particularly in nice shape), and this one is an absolute pleasure to play - with an easily shreddable neck that these are renowned for.
It has a nice dark rosewood fretboard with 24 beefy frets, 15.75” radius, Gotoh made tuners, and the excellent Edge locking tremolo. The V7 and V8 humbuckers provide plenty of smooth output, and are well balanced with the middle S1 single coil - which allows some nice quacky Strat tones.
Cosmetically this one is in good shape apart from two dings around the edges (as pictured), as well as some light finish swirling, and a couple of small scuffs at the top of the headstock. All in all, this one presents very nicely with its sleek black finish still looking great.
It has received a setup with optimal neck relief using D’Addario 9-42’s yielding a nice low string height of about .040” at the 12th fret. The tremolo has been balanced and provides smooth dives as well as upward pitch bends. It is stage ready and all set to find its new home!
Includes original Ibanez hardshell case.
