Super cool MIJ Mustang Bass! If you’re looking for something with pure mojo that is manageable in the hands, this one is absolutely for you. With a comfy C neck, short scale, and light weight, it basically plays itself! The talk is true, this would make an excellent stage or studio companion, particularly for musicians on the road.
It sports a rosewood fretboard with vintage style frets, alder body, and vintage correct 7.25” radius with a 1.5” nut width. The “Special Design” pickups are nice and good for thumping, with good clarity and the ability to go fairly low with the tone rolled off. The neck on this one is particularly pretty, with some gorgeous figuring throughout the profile.
This example comes in nice shape, and has clearly seen a well-kept life so far. There are a few small dings here and there - including one near the 12th fret marker, but none that are glaring and overall the bass presents very nicely. Other general wear includes some play marks on the pickguard and a bit of tarnish on the tuning keys that in my opinion fits the mojo of a 60’s style Fender.
It is setup to play quite nicely, with low string height good for a wide variety of playing styles. There is plenty of room on the saddles to go up or down to your liking. The frets show some mild wear in popular spots, but have plenty of life left and all notes ring out true as they should. Don’t miss out on this awesome little bass!
